Am 30. November 2022 veröffentlicht Sam Altman, CEO des amerikanischen Tech-Unternehmens OpenAI, einen Tweet mit dem Wortlaut: „today we launched ChatGPT. try talking with it here: chat.openai.com“. Der darauffolgende Sprint zu 1 Million Nutzer in nur fünf Tagen machte ChatGPT zu der am schnellsten wachsenden Internetanwendung aller Zeiten.
